Thymallus Series

Thymallus, or grayling you might prefer to call, is a gorgeous game fish beloved by David Sung, our fishing guide in Approach Team. Perceiving how Czech nymphing works during his exchange student age in Eastern Europe, David shared his idea to innovate traditional Czech nymphing tackles into an extended, tip-sensitive, light weight rod, to achieve excellent manual ability over constant mending and high-stick skill to cover large riffle area with weighted nymph patterns.

Thymallus series adopts single-foot guides to decrease the amplified strength from rod length, and still keeps the sensibility to detect lightest take. The reel seat is made of hollow lightweight aluminum for lower overall weight, with AA grade Portugal cork grip for your comfortable day long trip.

Our customer in Washington area, U.S., bought Thymallus for its farther reach over a paddler and its least requirement on repeating casts. He tested this rod on drift boat during his guide service. And we received photos on which happy faces, trophies, and Thymallus all together one month later.
